About Don Prioleau
All work in this gallery is the original work of Don Prioleau. It is for sale, copyrighted to Don Prioleau and, as such, is protected by US and International Copyright laws.
Don started seriously taking pictures with the purchase of his first SLR in 1991 after being assigned to Germany. He bought a Pentax P30N and shot for a few months with objects until he could get someone to pose for him. The more he shot, the more he wanted to shoot. That was followed by a P30T and he got his hands on a used K1000. His passion has grown a hundred times over since the days of shooting and taking notes on every shot. Don would often take ten pictures of the same object and write down aperture setings and f-stops and wait for the results from the lab to see the small differences. This was his introduction to photography and the love of it.
This would help him later when he finally turned to the DSLR format in 2007 while in Turkey for 15 months. While Nikon and Canon seem to have the lead in sales and opinions for which camera was better, Don remained with the Pentax K100D and then to the K20D as well as the K50. The instant gratification and the amount of pictures that can be taken in a single session with digital have filled hundreds of folders and very large hard drives. Photography never gets old and his love for it has been steady for more than 20 years.
"Life seems to happen one frame at a time for me and I try to have my camera out to capture those moments"
"I hope you enjoy these pictures even half as much as I do taking them" Don P.
